| Description: | The Rabbit Haven a project of AVA, a 501 c3 non profit organization rescues injured and abandoned rabbits and accepts surrendered rabbits from the general public or at risk rabbits from shelters as space allows. We then provide medical care and foster support through our veterinarians and foster network programs. When the rabbit is
ready, we begin to rotate these rabbits into our adoption showcases held three times each month. Rabbits may be adopted from these shows. We hold adoption shows in Santa Cruz County at Pet Pals and in Sunnyvale at For Other Living things. See web for show times and directions. Our showcase events spotlight up to 20 rabbit at each show. Same day adoptions occur. Our organization takes in approximately 600 rabbits per year. The Rabbit Haven also works in the community, at schools, and with shelters and other education groups to educate the public on rabbit care, feeding, grooming, medical needs, social requirements, housing and behaviors. In 2009 we added a spay neuter program and also a food bank program for families in need due to the dire economic situation. Annual projects include the Holiday gift Bag program for shelter and foster rabbits, and craft show events. FEES: Surrendered rabbit fee $50.00 (low income fee waiver) | ||
