| Description: | CRC- Services are available for caregivers of individuals with brain impairments such as Alzheimer's disease, Parkinson's, head injury, stroke or other dementia illness. Services include information, referral, family consultation, assessment, respite, legal consultation, counseling, support groups, education, training and special events.
AHEC- provides education to family practice medical residents and nursing students in geriatrics and chronic care management to meet the rapidly increasing health care needs of people in the Monterey Bay region. MSSP-offers free social work and nursing services to help you stay independent in your home. This process involves you, a public health nurse, a social worker, family members, your doctor and community agencies. If you are eligible for MSSP, our staff will visit you in your home to discuss your medical, social, and home safety needs to make your life easier. They can arrange services and keep in touch with you monthly to see that your needs are being met. ELIGIBILITY: Any member of the public may call for information and referral. Services are for caregivers of persons (over 18 years of age) with brain impairment. FEES: No charge for information, referral, needs assessment or family consultation. Sliding scale for respite and counseling service. FUNDING SOURCE: State of California (Department of Mental Health); State of California (Department on Aging); Federal Family Caregiver Support Act (AAA); San Benito United Way; Sliding Scale Fees; Private Donations. | ||
| Volunteer Info: | Minimum Age: 21. This non-profit organization helps caregivers cope with sometimes overwhelming responsibilities of being a caregiver. They need volunteers to do some light office work.
