| Description: | The Live Oak School District-Child Development Program offers families a state funded (California Department of Education (CDE), and Child Development Division (CDD)) & licensed Early Care and Education Program at the Live Oak, Green Acres and Del Mar Elementary School sites. We provide morning (8:30-11:30) and afternoon (12:30-3:30) preschool classes to over 220 children district wide, 176 days per year. A four-six week summer session is also offered to those students who will be entering kindergarten in the fall.
ELIGIBILITY: Children do not have to live in the district to attend. FEES: Tuition is based on part-time or full time schedule. Subsidized or low cost tuition is based on state subsidized scale. Families qualify based on income and "need" for services for after school care. State Preschool families qualify based on income only. Each preschool site is licensed for 60 children. The After School program is funded by the Department of Education, Child Development Division and accepts tuition payments from the Santa Cruz County Human Resource Agency (HRA-Calworks), Santa Cruz County Voucher Project, as well as family fees. Free and low cost tuition is available for those families who may qualify. | ||
| Programs: | The Live Oak School District-Child Development Program offers an excellent after school program for kindergarten through 5th grade students at Live Oak, Del Mar, and Green Acres Elementary Schools. In addition, a full day, winter, spring and summer camp is available when school is not in session.
The Shoreline Teen Center ("The Club") provides middle school students in the Live Oak School District with an organized after school program focusing on educational enrichment and recreational activities. The program is facilitated by the Santa Cruz County Boys & Girls Club. For more information please call, 475-6565 ext. 130 Migrant Education Even Start (MEES) is a "free" curriculum based literacy program offered to families who qualify as Migrant with children 3-5 years of age. Our comprehensive services provide families and their children, home visiting, additional classroom assistance, family workshops and educational events, parent advisory meetings, as well as Migrant Education meetings and English language classes (ESL). If a qualified family has children under the age of three, they are able to participate in some of our support services.
