Description:SCWHC is a private nonprofit primary heath care and health education center operated by and for women. The center provides quality health care services for women and children in a unique setting. Our approach includes a strong commitment to health care maintenance, health education, advocacy, cultural sensitivity, affordability and personalized care.

ELIGIBILITY: Our focus is on women and children and we welcome individuals and families of all races, classes, religions, physical abilities, cultures, ages and sexual orientations. For the county's low-income, uninsured and under-insured residents. We have a particular commitment to providing services to those who face barriers to care due to economic status, disability, sexual orientation, mental illness, or immigration status.

FEES: Fees are sliding scale. Medi-Cal, Medicare, cash and several insurance plans are accepted.

Reach Out and Read Program:
In the exam room, medical providers trained in the developmental strategies of early literacy encourage parents to read aloud to their young children, and offer age-appropriate tips.
