| Description: | CTAP provides equipment at no cost to California residents who have difficulty hearing, seeing, moving, speaking, or remembering. You could also benefit from the services of the California Relay Service (CRS), which connects people who are Deaf or speech-disabled (Speech To Speech/STS) with people who are hearing. CRS is available in English, Spanish, and ASL. Why is there no cost for our equipment or services? CTAP and CRS are both state-mandated programs that are funded through a small surcharge that appears on all California residential monthly telephone bills (California Relay Service and Communication Devices Funds).
ELIGIBILITY: 1. Reside in California and have existing telephone service. 2. Complete an application and have your doctor or other Certifying Agent (as listed on the application) sign it to certify that you have a temporary or permanent disability that makes using a standard telephone difficult. 3. Return your application by mail, fax, or return it in person to your local service center | ||
