Take waste medications and needles to any convenient drop-off site including many pharmacies around Santa Cruz County. Check the website for current collection locations, then call to confirm times. Note that some sites take only sharps or only medicines. Deposit your items in the clearly labeled drop-box at the site or hand your items to pharmacy counter staff or other facility personnel. FUNDING SOURCE: Major funding for the startup of this program was provided by a grant from the California Integrated Waste Management Board (now CalRrecycle). Ongoing funding is provided by the local government partners, local wastewater treatment facilities, and local pharmacies. | ||
