| Description: | Nestled between the north shore of Monterey Bay and the Santa Cruz Mountains, Camphill Communities California is one of 10 Camphill Communities in North America.
Located on six acres of land near Santa Cruz, it is a 501(c)(3) non-profit organization, a member of the Camphill Association of North America, and supporter of the Camphill Foundation. Founded by Karl Konig and inspired by the anthroposophical teachings of Rudolf Steiner, Camphill California is part of the International Camphill Movement, a worldwide initiative for social change with over a hundred affiliates worldwide that provide residential care for people with developmental disabilities. LANGUAGES OTHER THAN ENGLISH: We have volunteers from several countries but English is spoken around our residents. ELIGIBILITY: Residents must be a client of the California Regional Center system. | ||
