| Description: | Support group for people who are dealing with the emotions that occur when a companion animal is lost through death or other circumstances. A trained grief counselor helps people find ways to cope with the loss, and others who have lost companion animals offer support also. Please call for details.
The group is based on the belief that grief needs to be shared in order for healing to happen. We are a story-telling and listening group. Betsy Jones (facilitator) has a BA in psychology and has training in Crisis Intervention. She has lived with and lost many companion animals. She has been a longtime member of the group and, with her academic background and training, is a skilled facilitator. | ||
