| Description: | FSCPL is a 501 (c) 3 non-profit that provides the summer reading program for adults and children, concerts, library calendar, and other programs. Provides volunteer and support services to all branches of the Santa Cruz Public Library system. Underwrites children's and other library special programs. Operates Friends Library Book Store, maintains book cart sales in the branch libraries and other book sales like Kids Only Book Sales and semi-annual huge book sales at the Civic Auditorium. The organization contributes thousands of dollars to buy new books and materials for the library. New members are always welcome. Office is located in the lobby of the Central Branch Library, 224 Church Street, Santa Cruz.

| Volunteer Info: | Any age for adults and a wide range of jobs and skills needed. For Young Friends, the minimum age is 10. Children should apply at their branch. Adults apply online or at the Friends office. Great for kids - come and enjoy the magic of the library. Kids volunteer assignments include helping with the summer reading program, preparing materials for arts and crafts projects, creating signs and posters, displaying new books and materials, and re-shelving books.
