Description:Provides library services to the general public. Circulates books, magazines, music CDs, CD-ROMS, audio cassettes, large-print books and dvds. Provides reference and children's services. Sponsors both adult and children's special programming. Distributes tax forms starting in January. A display case is available for use by the public.

ELIGIBILITY: Residents of Santa Cruz County. Adults must show photo ID, proof of address needed or card will be mailed.

FEES: $.15 per copy charge

For toddlers 1-3 years, a 20-25 minute program.

Homework Help Thursdays 3:30-5:30
In conjunction with the Santa Cruz County Office of Education, the Santa Cruz Public Libraries are offering free homework assistance at 6 branches. Each Homework Help site is supervised by a California-certified teacher. There is at least one bilingual person at each location. No appointment is necessary. Open to students grade 12 and under.

2 internet terminals for kids 17 and under; first 10 pages printed free (for homework use only)

Aptos Youth Chess Club (3:30-4:30pm)

Come play and learn the game with Aptos Library's Chess Master, Dana Mackenzie, for ages 6 and up.

Aptos is making meeting rooms available for quiet study time supervised by volunteers, Monday through Thursday in the afternoons when there are no booked meetings taking place. Call a day in advance to see if study time will be available.
