| Description: | Libertarians believe in the American heritage of liberty, patriotism, and personal responsibility. The Libertarian way is a logically consistent approach to politics based on the moral principle of self-ownership. Libertarian positions on political issues are consistent with the idea that each individual has the right to control his or her own body, action, speech, and property. Accordingly, government's only proper role is to assist individuals when they need to defend themselves from anyone who would violate their rights. This party promotes the idea of substantially reducing the size and intrusiveness of government and cutting all taxes. Activities sponsored include registering people to vote, participation in local community activities by Libertarian candidates and promoting Libertarian ideas. Speakers are available to the community.
