| Description: | This special district fire department provides fire and life safety protection for Aptos and La Selva Beach area residents. Conducts fire prevention inspections, weed abatement programs, CPR classes, guided tours, etc. Paramedic services, first aid provided. Will answer questions and provide information on smoke detectors and anything relating to fire prevention and safety within the home. Check website for CPR classes.

| Programs: | Community CPR Classes
FREE Community CPR classes (featuring hands-only CPR) are offered monthly (dates vary) at our main station at 6934 Soquel Drive, Aptos, and usually run in the evenings. This course is for basic CPR only, with infant and defibrillator training available on request. Class size is limited, so early sign-ups are encouraged. To register, email sarahm@aptosfire.com or call the Administration Office at 831-685-6690. Child passenger car seats checked only on Wednesdays by appointment, call 685-6690. Please try to schedule car seat appointments 2-4 weeks in advance, spaces fill quickly. SEATS for KIDS Program Child safety seats are provided through Santa Cruz County Health Services Agency SEATS for KIDS Program, with funds from County Vehicle Code fine revenues, grants and private donations. For more information, call 454-5477. Seats are available for low-income families ($15-$30 donation requested). Availability of car seats is limited, and on a first come/first serve basis. | ||
