| Description: | Santa Cruz County's premiere radio control model club, AMA Charter #144
The RC Bees of Santa Cruz County, Inc. consists of people who enjoy participating in the sport of Radio Control flying and modeling. The RC Bees (Club) has been in existence in Santa Cruz county for over 35 years. Members range in age from 9 to 90 years old. The Club is chartered and insured by the Academy of Model Aeronautics (AMA) and abides by AMA rules and regulations. Each Club member is required to join the AMA and follow the Club and AMA rules and regulations which are posted at the flying site. The club can provide instruction and assistance to new flyers in building and flying their models. Days and hours of operation: Flying site consists of an asphalt runway, pilot stations with safety netting, storage shed and portable toilet facility. The site is open during daylight hours 7 days a week. Most activity occurs between 8am to noon Tuesdays, Thursdays, Saturdays and Sundays. FEES: One time initiation fee $50.00; $48.00 annually. One time initiation fee $10.00; $24.00 annually for 18 and under. New flyers may fly as a guest for free. AREAS SERVED: Santa Cruz, Santa Clara, San Benito and Monterey Counties. Out of area flyers can also fly as guests. FUNDING SOURCE: Dues and Field Fee. | ||
