| Description: | National organization of 7000+ writers and aspiring writers. The local chapter was organized in January 1988, and currently has about 20 members. Though romance writing is the main focus of this group, our members write in many genres including mystery, fantasy and children's. Any writer of fiction is welcome to join. The meetings include an update on the publishing marketplace, the opportunity to read and be critiqued on three pages of your manuscript and a short business meeting followed by a speaker (published writers, booksellers, writing workshops, etc.) or a writing program aimed at improving craft. Critique groups are also available for members to attend. Mentoring can be arranged.
ELIGIBILITY: Those interested in becoming members should attend a regular business meeting. The group is open to writers of all fiction genre though membership in national Romance Writers of America is required. FEES: $36/annual chapter dues, RWA National dues $70.
