| Description: | Now in our 34th year, the Santa Cruz Chamber Players (SCCP) has become one of the leading concert presenters in the Santa Cruz area. Presenting at least 6 concerts per season, SCCP offers a wide variety of chamber music programs, ranging from strictly classical to avant-garde contemporary. Each of our themed concerts features a different artistic director and a different ensemble of players.
Drawing upon the best of local talent, our professional musicians enable you to enjoy beautiful chamber music, expertly performed, all right here in beautiful Santa Cruz County. The Santa Cruz Chamber Players is a not-for-profit 501(C)3 organization. Our goals are to promote live chamber music and to provide performance opportunities for local musicians. The venue for all Santa Cruz Chamber Players concerts is Christ Lutheran Church 10707 Soquel Drive, Aptos (Off Highway 1 at Freedom Blvd.) FUNDING SOURCE: Our season is supported in part by a grant from the Cultural Council of Santa Cruz County and donations from many individuals, for which we are very grateful. | ||
| Mission: | To present chamber music concerts for residents of Santa Cruz County and to provide performance opportunities for local professional musicians. | ||
| Programs: | Celebrating Youth (CY) is an educational outreach program for young musicians, sponsored by the Santa Cruz Chamber Players. The program is open to 7th-12th grade instrumentalists and singers, aged 18 years and under, who are interested in learning to play ensemble chamber music. Students should be taking private lessons, and need to be nominated by their teachers in order to enroll. Auditions are required for new applicants. The CY program runs from October through May. | ||
