| Description: | This special district fire department provides fire and life safety protection to Scotts Valley and outlying area residents. Department conducts fire prevention inspections, guided tours, etc. Fire suppression personnel are trained in Advanced Life Support/Paramedic emergency medicine.
Issues building (new construction, additons, etc.) fire safety permits, for a one-time-only fee, based on square footage. The District also administers the Santa Cruz County Hazardous Materials Interagency Team (SCHMIT). AREAS SERVED: Santa Cruz City limits to upper Glenwood Drive on Hwy 17. From Graham Hill Rd. to ridge line on east side of Hwy 17. Area is 22 square miles. FEES: Inspection Permit Fee. | ||
