| Description: | St. Francis is a Catholic community dedicated to serving young men and women in grades 9-12 with a college preparatory curriculum in a Salesian atmosphere where the education of the young is at the heart of all school decisions. All aspects of the school - academics, athletics, activities, clubs, campus ministry, retreats, service projects, visual and performing arts, student government, parent support activities are designed to ensure the realization of the vision of St.Francis: to educate youth to their status as the most beloved of God's creations.
St. Francis is fully accredited by the Western Association of Schools and Colleges (WASC) and by the Western Catholic Educational Association (WCEA); all college preparatory classes are UC and CSU approved; and all Advanced Placement classes have been certified by the College Board. St. Francis boasts 24 interscholastic athletic teams in 11 sport areas; sponsors a Performing Arts program that includes choral and dramatic elements; undertakes a student-centered Campus Ministry program; provides for a complete Student Activities program, including a Student Council; and sponsors a number of both academic and interest-based campus clubs, including Mock Trial and CSF/NHS. ELIGIBILITY: Open to qualified high school students. Application for admission to St. Francis is open to all students who have successfully completed the eighth grade in good standing. Application acceptance for an individual student is determined using the evaluation of junior high school grades, score on the HSPT, the St.Francis Confidential Evaluation Form completed by the applicant's school, and a student and family interview.
