Monday-Friday, 8am-3pm in Santa Cruz and Watsonville. A mail slot is provided for filings after 3pm. Come in the morning and avoid the lines. Items must be received by 5pm. Phones are answered from Monday-Friday, 8am-3pm. DIVISIONS: The Civil Division in Santa Cruz processes all civil matters, including general civil, civil harassment restraining orders, name change applications, probate and unlawful detainer cases. The Criminal Division has jurisdiction over felonies, misdemeanors, and some infractions. The Family Law Division of the Santa Cruz Superior Court handles a variety of family-related matters. Some of these case types include; ending a marriage or registered domestic partnership, identifying a child's legal parents, determining custody and visitation issues, establishing or enforcing child and spousal support, dealing with domestic violence issues, adoptions and minor emancipations. Jury Commissioners Office-see related agency below The Juvenile Courts handle cases of children under 18 years of age who violate any law, or any children who are abused or neglected. The Probate Division of the Superior Court handles a wide range of issues involving adults and children including: Transfers of Property Powers of Attorney Trusts Conservatorships Guardianships Minor's Compromises Establishing the fact of a birth, death, or marriage. The Small Claims Court is a special court where disputes are resolved inexpensively and quickly. Traffic Division-paying citation, court dates, traffic school, proof of correction. | ||
