| Description: | Located behind Ramos Furniture Store, the Watsonville Bike Shack, established in 2006, works to promote sustainable and affordable modes of transportation, to decrease our dependence on fossil fuels, and to build healthy and safe communities. We accept donations of bicycles, parts, and helmets which are distributed to Watsonville residents in need. People are welcome to come to the Bike Shack to learn more about bikes and bike repair. Youth can complete their community service hours at the Bike Shack.
ELIGIBILITY: Watsonville residents in need with special emphasis on youth, farmworkers, and the homeless. | ||
| Programs: | The Shack is also the site of the "Tianguis Gratis" Free Market for Farmworkers. Donations of new or gently used and clean clothing and shoes (for infants, children, teens, and adults), household items, mattresses, space heaters, toys, children's books, electronics, etc. may be brought to the Bike Shack during operating hours. | ||
