| Description: | Located at the corner of Bardue and Rose Avenues. The Aromas Grange was formed in 1913 and is the sixth oldest existing grange in the state. The Grange secured a library for the town, a train depot, and was instrumental in starting the Fire Department. Members sponsored the first Girl Scouts, Boy Scouts and 4H Club, all three youth activities are still supported by and carry on meetings at the Grange.
In 2001, it became one of the first "Action Granges" in California and was given leeway by the National Grange to forgo much of the ritual and formality practiced in traditional Granges with a mandate to create new programs and approaches that would better serve their communities, draw in new members and revitalize the movement. At the state and national levels, the Grange is a political lobbying organization, steadfastly non-partisan and historically focused on protecting the rights of farmers and other small landholders and giving them a political voice. In California, the Aromas Grange is partnering with other action Granges in the state and the new State Grange leadership to help restore the larger Grange institution to its populist roots.
