The City's combined rates for water, sewer, and garbage/recycling services are the lowest in the area. The Solid Waste Division also performs street sweeping in the City. The street sweeper cleans all residential streets every two weeks, while heavily traveled streets, such as Main Street, are swept daily. Each year, our street sweepers clean 10,000 miles of streets. The City's Materials Recovery Facility bales the recyclable materials that are shipped off to factories to be made into new products. The Waste and Recycling Drop-off, located at 320 Harvest Drive, is open six days a week, and provides for convenient disposal of extra garbage and recyclables from City residences. Public Works & Utilities' Engineering Division provides management and technical support for all divisions within Public Works and Utilities Department. It also provides design work and construction management for the City’s Capital Improvement Program as it relates to streets, traffic, parking, storm drain, wastewater, solid waste, and water facilities. The Facilities and Equipment Division maintains the City's police cars, fire trucks, garbage and recycling trucks, street sweepers, and heavy equipment in addition to cleaning and maintaining 23 City buildings and overseeing the City's Graffiti Removal Program. | ||
