| Programs: | Benefits Call Center serves individuals who are receiving assistance from CalFresh, Medi-Cal, Foster Care, Adoption Assistance, and CalWORKs.
CalFresh (Food Stamps) is a federal program that helps low-income people buy food they need for good health and nutrition. CalWORKs Cash Aid assists parents with dependent children in finding employment, job training, skills development and child care costs during work or training hours. CalWORKs Child Care Program helps eligible families pay for monthly child care as they move through their Welfare-to-Work activities towards employment and self-sufficiency. Welfare-to-Work is an employment program that helps families receiving CalWORKs Cash Aid become self sufficient by providing job search assistance and job training opportunities. The General Assistance Program is a County-funded loan program designed to assist adults in meeting their basic needs for housing, utilities, personal needs, and transportation. Medi-Cal is a public health insurance program which provides health care services to low-income individuals including families with children, seniors (65 or older), individuals with disabilities, children in foster care, pregnant women, and low income people with specific diseases such as tuberculosis, breast cancer or HIV/AIDS. | ||
