| Description: | Founded in 1978, the Valley Womens Club is dedicated to community action, awareness and leadership in environmental, educational, social, and political concerns which affect the health and welfare of the San Lorenzo Valley and our community.

| Programs: | The Valley Women's Club operates three State certified redemption/recycling centers as a community service. All sites accept CRV (California Refund Value) beverage containers for redemption (a refund of the fee paid when you purchase beverage containers). This includes beverages in aluminum cans, bi-metal (steel) cans, glass bottles and plastic bottles.
Ben Lomond Refuse Transfer Stations on Newell Creek Rd. (off Glen Arbor) Drop Off 7:30am-3:30pm Monday-Saturday CRV 10am-3pm Monday-Saturday Boulder Creek at the south end of town, 12890 Hwy 9 directly behind Village Wash and Dry. Drop Off anytime CRV 11am-5pm, Tuesday-Sunday Felton on Gushee Street at Hihn Street, just down the street from the Post Office. Drop Off anytime CRV 11am-5pm daily The Environmental Committee works to protect the watershed and to educate the public on forestry issues, erosion control, hazardous waste, recycling and other issues. We also monitor government policies and procedures. Events: Annual River & Road Clean-up Watershed Festival of Events The Community Connection Committee sponsors and participates in selected community events and provides liaison with other SLV organizations and with government officials. Events: The Redwood Mountain Faire Candidates' Forums Hammer-Marcum Awards Halloween Pedestrian Safety CERT Disaster Preparedness Training The Education Committee provides scholarships for SVLHS graduates attending Cabrillo College.
