Caution tape, lumber, and scaffolding for repair work on Lulu Carpenter's after the 1989 earthquake. The two buildings in between Lulu's and the World Savings Bank were not so fortunate; both the old Bookshop Santa Cruz building (built in 1899) and the old Santa Cruz Coffee Roasting Company building were demolished.
