The Santa Cruz Aerie 460 (Fraternal Order of Eagles) band is playing for a crowd in front of the Santa Cruz Post Office. A row of men in sailor uniforms stands opposite the band in the middle. Handwritten notes on the original mounting say: "Departure of Santa Cruz Troops, April 14th 1917."
