A crowd gathered around Union Traction streetcar #18, overturned at Soquel and Pacific. The conductor and most passengers had left the car after an earlier accident. The unattended car rolled backwards along Soquel Avenue until it left the tracks at the turn onto Pacific. One passenger, Mrs. Hildreth Foster, was injured; she later recovered. The streetcar was reassembled and returned to service.
